drive documents from Home
Navigate to http://technology.spartan.org/spartatechnology/tech+links/default.asp
Follow the link to Employee I drive access: A Security Alert will appear. Do not be
alarmed this is coming from the
Then you must login: This is the same User name and Password that you use to login to Novell each morning you first turn your computer on at school.
You will then be at the main “I” drive home page. Notice your “I” drive listed on the left side. It can be expanded by clicking on the + sign next to the folder name.
Expanding on the left also shows the files on the right. This will allow you to double click a file you want to retrieve.
Double clicking a file in the Location area (center) will allow you to download it to your home machine and work with it.
After double clicking
a dialog box will ask you to SAVE, OPEN or CANCEL. Selecting OPEN will open the
file, assuming you have the proper programs at home to open it. Save will open
another dialog screen asking you where you would like to save it.
PLEASE NOTE: If you
try to open an EXEL file but do not have EXEL at home it will not work. This is
true for WORD, POWERPOINT, ACROBAT or any other file.
In WINDOWS XP a thin yellow bar will appear in your browser window. You must right click and select Download file for the file you have chosen to come to your home computer.
If you select SAVE: You will see this:
Choosing the save option will require you to select a place to SAVE the file: The SAVE navigation window looks like this:
After Download then choose to OPEN FOLDER. This is the easiest way to get to your saved file.
The downloaded file will appear in highlighted form. Double click the file and work with it at you leisure.
When working with your file you will not be “actively” using the “I” drive browser. It will stay open but will require you to login again when you try to use it again. This is a safety feature.
When you are ready to send the file back. Select the FILE menu from the “I” drive page, choose UPLOAD. Navigate to the place where you saved the file.

Make sure the: Overwrite existing files box is selected, unless of course this is a new file or a file you have modified and you want to keep the original. Simply changing the name and uploading it works well to keep your original as well as the new file.
After upload: Logout with the Logout Icon:

Close your browser.

That's it.
