Creating a URL Link in a Word Document

 

1.      Type what you want your user to see as the directed link.

 

For example:  “Sparta Area School District Grants”

 

2.      Highlight the text.

 

3.      Follow menu path:  Insert > Hyperlink

You can also click the Hyperlink icon on the toolbar:

 

 

 

4.      Type in the address you wish to link in the address field.

 

Type the web address.

 

 

Click ‘OK’.

 

5.      The text should appear as a URL link in your document.

 

6.      Verify that the link is accurately directing the user to the correct page:

 

 

While working in Microsoft Word you will need to hold the CTRL key while clicking on the link. 

This should direct you to the site you have indicated. 

If it does not function correctly, delete the link and try again.
