Restoring Groupwise Mail Notification

 

STEP ONE

 

 

 

In Groupwise:  Tools > Options > Environment

 

 

 

Is the Launch Notify at Startup checked? 

 

 

 

STEP TWO

 

 

Start > Settings > Control Panel

 

 

Double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.

 

If there is a speaker icon located next to the action, there is a sound assigned. 

 
 

 

The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window will appear.

 

On the Sounds tab: scroll down program events to find the New Mail Notification.

 

Is there a sound assigned to it in the Sounds box?  In this example, it is the Windows XP Ding.

 

 

 

STEP THREE

 

 

Along your tool bar in the lower right corner, there will be a speaker icon.

 

Right click on it and open Volume Control.

 

 

Verify that your volume is not muted (the mute all box SHOULD NOT be checked).

 

Also verify that your volume level is not too low.  Drag the bar to adjust.
